I try to do these fests justice on this site; I really do. I want nothing more than to be able to sit down after taking a day or two to decompress and pontificate over the experiences I shared with fellow comedians, neat things I saw and ate, and takeaways from the weekend I hope … Continue reading

Grayson Hugh Cameo on ‘Never Not Funny’
Never Not Funny [The segment I’m calling to your attention begins around 30:00. I tried to embed it, but WordPress is trash with most imbeds. Sorry.] Thanks to my Whiskey Bear Fest friend Pat Sievert for clue-ing me in to this appearance by an old Grayson Hugh song on Jimmy Pardo’s podcast Never Not Funny. … Continue reading
096: Friendlytown Remembers Howie
Friendlytown is a weird comedy show, and this may have been the weirdest fucking thing we’ve ever done. If you don’t know, now you know. That’s all we got. Continue reading
Columbia this Weekend!
The beautiful people at Soda City Standup have invited me to perform this weekend in the 2nd (i think) annual Cola Comedy Con in Columbia, SC. If you’re in Caroliner (the bottom one) you can find me hanging out at shows, laughing at funny people, and/or buying records at Papa Jazz/Scratch n’ Spin. If you … Continue reading
095: Friendlytown Recounts Its War of Independence (1979-1981)
If you’ve read your Friendlytown history books, you know that our town was once an unincorporated territory split by QEDopolis and Bonhomieburg until July 2, 1981. Our Independence Day always gets overshadowed by the U.S. one on the 4th, but not this year. This year, we’re getting our best storytellers to hype up the people, places and events in our contentious, surprisingly bloody fight for autonomy. Our Mayors in the Friendlytown Historical Society will re-enact pivotal moments during the war, regale us with tales of the many battles, and impersonate some of the great Friendlytown war heroes. Continue reading
Upcoming DJ Nights this Month
In addition to being a stand-up comic who speaks insufferably about music onstage, I also love to get out and insufferably spin music as well. I’ve had a burning desire to continue my routine DJ nights I had for those two years in Long Beach, but Knoxville doesn’t exactly have bars like The Pike (i.e. … Continue reading
Columbus Makes (F)Art: Dustin Meadows
I could put in my own two cents about how I’ve witnessed a noticeable selling-off-to-the-highest-bidder of my Midwestern comedy home-away-from-home, but I’ll refrain from it here. I could write a diatribe about how cities with massive amounts of cool shit going on as recently as the beginning of this decade are squeezing culture out of their … Continue reading
094: Friendlytown Couple’s Skate!
Ah, youth! Unfathomable in this day and age! Alas, youth continues to happen and these youths need a place to go to flourish. That’s why we opened up the Friendlytown Skate n’ Dash, where the fine young people of our fair town can go skate and have a good time and be complimentary to one another in a variety of manners. It’s Couples Skate night and we want all of these couples to showcase their best qualities as the onlookers look on! Will they get along? Will they do the opposite of getting along? Will they do the Bart Man in the middle of the skate floor and inspire others to do the same? Only one way to find out! Continue reading
